Reolink CX810 firmware: check, update and troubleshoot
A firmware file should be matched to the exact camera model and hardware version. Do not install a firmware package intended for another Reolink camera because the model name looks similar.
This guide focuses on the safe workflow: identify the CX810 hardware and installed firmware, verify the official download source, choose the correct update path, and re-check compatibility after the update.
Technical steps and reference tables on this page are attributed to current Reolink or Synology documentation. CameraCompat compatibility verdicts remain separate and come only from reviewed CameraCompat relationship data.
The safe answer before downloading firmware
Use the Reolink Download Center as the source of truth for an available CX810 package and confirm the exact hardware version shown by your own camera. CameraCompat does not hard-code a “latest CX810 firmware” number when a current model-specific download listing cannot be verified reliably.
1. Check your CX810 hardware and firmware first
The version currently installed on your camera matters more than a firmware filename found in a forum post or on another model page.
- Standalone camera in Reolink Client: open Device Settings and check Device > Info for model, hardware and firmware information.
- Camera connected to a newer Reolink NVR: on the NVR monitor open Settings > Camera, select the channel and use More Info to see the camera hardware and firmware.
- Camera connected to an older Reolink NVR interface: use Menu > IP channel, select the camera, then open Detail.
CX810 hardware scope matters
Current Reolink support tables identify CX810 in scopes using hardware IPC_NT2NA48MP. Treat the hardware shown by your own Device Info screen as authoritative for your unit before choosing firmware.
2. Get firmware from the official source
- Open the Reolink Download Center and select the exact model and hardware version.
- Download and unzip the archive if required; the final camera firmware file uses Reolink’s .pak/.paks format.
- If the exact CX810/hardware combination is not offered, do not substitute firmware from CX410, CX820, RLC-810A or another camera.
3. Manual update for a standalone CX810
Reolink’s current manual-update guide applies to non-battery Reolink cameras including PoE models.
- Update Reolink Client to the current version and save the correct firmware file locally.
- Open the CX810 in Reolink Client and go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
- Choose Browse, select the verified firmware file, then start the upgrade.
- Reolink offers an optional Reset Configuration choice for large firmware jumps; enabling it clears most settings, although Reolink notes that recordings and Wi-Fi settings are not cleared.
- After the camera finishes and restarts, return to Device > Info and confirm the installed firmware version.
Automatic update
Reolink also documents Auto Update for PoE/Wi-Fi smart-detection cameras. For a standalone camera in the App, open the camera settings, go to Administration > Update Device > Auto Update. In Reolink Client, use System > Maintenance > Firmware Update and enable Auto Update. Reolink notes that cameras added to an NVR use the NVR monitor for this setting. Rollouts can be gradual, so an online “latest version” message does not replace checking the official Download Center when troubleshooting.
If the CX810 is connected through a Reolink NVR
Newer NVR interfaces can update added camera firmware through Reolink Client, the NVR web interface or the NVR monitor. Reolink notes that the firmware version of an NVR-connected camera may need to be checked on the NVR monitor rather than from the standalone camera interface.
If a CX810 firmware update fails
- Retry the update on the local network instead of over a remote connection.
- Verify again that the firmware matches both CX810 and the exact hardware version.
- If the installed firmware is very old, Reolink advises that a transitional firmware may be required before the newest release.
- If the update still fails, provide Reolink Support with the camera model, hardware version and current firmware version.
Historical CX810 firmware context
In a 2024 official Reolink Community announcement, Reolink described the first CX810 firmware update as adding audio noise reduction and a binning mode for very dark scenes, plus image optimizations and bug fixes. This is historical release context, not a statement that the 2024 package is current in 2026.
Firmware and compatibility
A firmware update can change available features or integration behavior, but CameraCompat does not assume that a newer version automatically improves every third-party integration. Use the reviewed model × system report for the target platform after updating.

Frequently asked questions
What is the latest Reolink CX810 firmware?
Check the current Reolink Download Center for your exact CX810 hardware version. CameraCompat intentionally does not publish an unverified “latest” number.
Can I install CX410 or CX820 firmware on a CX810?
No safe assumption should be made. Reolink instructs users to select firmware for the exact model and hardware version.
Can I update CX810 firmware from the Reolink App?
Reolink’s manual-update guide says the App does not perform manual firmware uploads. Manual files can be applied through supported Client, Web or NVR paths.
Should I reset configuration during the update?
Reolink marks reset as optional and recommends considering it for a significantly newer firmware. It clears most configuration, so review your settings before using it.
Does updating firmware guarantee Home Assistant or Synology compatibility?
No. Firmware is one part of the reviewed scope. Target-system support, connection method and feature-level evidence still need to be checked separately.
