TrackMix on Synology: how to view the second lens

Choose Stream 3 or a second camera entry for the TrackMix tracking lens, and check when Synology uses two licences.

Quick answer

For TrackMix PoE or TrackMix WiFi, first try Stream 3 on the existing Synology camera entry. If that profile is absent and you need both views at once, Reolink documents adding the tracking lens as a second RTSP entry; that method consumes two licences.

Three documented paths for the second view

Reolink says the default ONVIF or Reolink profile shows the wide lens. Stream Profile 3 with H.265 displays the tracking stream at 1920 × 1080. Its alternative is a second RTSP camera entry using the tracking-lens stream; a further Reolink-protocol method is documented with a DS1618+ on DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5 or later. Reolink explicitly says the last two-entry methods consume two licences.

When one profile is not two simultaneous views

Switching the stream on a single camera entry selects the lens to display. If you need the wide and tracking views simultaneously as separate entries, plan for the second-entry procedure and its documented licence cost. The documentation does not prove talkback, events or tracking controls in either profile.

Check your setup

  1. Confirm your exact model is TrackMix PoE or TrackMix WiFi; these steps do not establish identical channel behavior for Duo 2 or Duo 3.
  2. In Synology IP Camera, inspect the video profile for H.265 + Stream 3. Verify that it displays the tracking lens, rather than counting a second camera entry immediately.
  3. If Stream 3 is missing, follow Reolink’s second RTSP entry method for the tracking lens. Keep credentials out of shared screenshots and notes.
  4. Before buying an additional licence, check available units in Surveillance Station and confirm whether your chosen one-entry or two-entry method meets the actual viewing need.

What this does not establish

This guide describes setup paths in Reolink documentation, not a CameraCompat compatibility verdict for your particular Synology firmware, Device Pack or TrackMix revision.
