Cross-system Reolink compatibility guide
Reolink compatibility chart: Synology, Home Assistant, NVR, ONVIF & RTSP
Reolink compatibility is not one yes/no property. The same camera can expose different functions depending on the recorder, software platform and connection path.
CameraCompat separates intrinsic camera capabilities from target-specific interoperability. A documented ONVIF or RTSP capability is therefore not treated as proof that every feature works in Synology, Home Assistant or an NVR.
This chart only shows models and relationships that CameraCompat can read from the reviewed public dataset. Missing cells remain unknown, not incompatible.

What “compatible” means here
A useful purchase decision needs more than a protocol logo. CameraCompat keeps the product capability, the connection path and the target-system result separate.
Reolink NVRs
Recorder hardware and firmware can change the supported camera envelope. When the evidence is scoped to a hardware revision, CameraCompat keeps that scope instead of treating the product name as a universal guarantee.
Synology Surveillance Station
A camera may be reachable through a native vendor profile, ONVIF or RTSP, but those paths do not necessarily expose the same events, audio, PTZ controls or stream behavior.
Home Assistant
CameraCompat shows the reviewed Home Assistant relationship separately from the camera’s own protocol capabilities. A local RTSP or ONVIF stream does not by itself establish the native integration result.
Blue Iris
Blue Iris remains an important third-party target, but this page does not manufacture a model-level verdict when CameraCompat has no reviewed relationship yet. The official setup source is linked below for context.
ONVIF and RTSP
These are intrinsic or protocol-level capabilities. They can provide a connection path, but they do not prove full feature interoperability with a specific recorder or software package.
Three compatibility traps to avoid
Same recorder name, different hardware generation
If the manufacturer publishes different limits for different hardware revisions, buy against the exact revision rather than the family name alone.
Protocol support is not full interoperability
Video can work while events, audio, PTZ, analytics or maximum resolution remain limited or unknown.
Direct camera vs camera behind an NVR
A platform can behave differently when it talks directly to a camera versus when the camera is exposed through an NVR or hub.
How to use this chart before buying
- Identify the exact camera model you are considering.
- Identify the recorder, NAS or software platform you already use.
- Check the hardware revision and firmware whenever the reviewed scope requires them.
- Check the connection method instead of assuming ONVIF, RTSP and a native profile are equivalent.
- Check the feature you actually need: recording, events, PTZ, audio, tracking or resolution.
- Open the exact CameraCompat report before treating a matrix cell as a purchase decision.
What the reviewed data supports
Compatibility statuses, feature states and product capability values shown on this page come from CameraCompat's reviewed public data.
What remains uncertain
Unlisted models, missing capabilities and absent relationships remain unresolved. They are not inferred from a sibling model, a protocol logo or a brand-wide assumption.
Frequently asked questions
Are all Reolink cameras ONVIF compatible?
No universal claim is made here. CameraCompat shows ONVIF only where reviewed product capability data supports it, and some products can depend on another device or connection path.
Does ONVIF mean every feature will work?
No. ONVIF can establish standardized interoperability for specific functions, but it does not prove every vendor-specific event, audio, PTZ or analytics feature in a target system.
Are Reolink cameras compatible with Synology?
Many exact Reolink/Synology relationships are documented, but the supported scope and features vary by model, firmware and integration path. Use the model-level report rather than a brand-wide assumption.
Can a camera work with Home Assistant even if its ONVIF support is unknown?
Possibly, but CameraCompat does not infer that result. The native Home Assistant relationship and the camera’s intrinsic protocols are evaluated as separate facts.
