Reolink Duo 2 WiFi vs E1 Outdoor: image format and codecs
Duo 2 WiFi and E1 Outdoor produce differently shaped images in their published specifications and list different codecs. Compare width and height together before choosing for a particular display or recorder. This is an exact-model comparison, not a claim that every Duo or E1 variant behaves alike.
Compare documented camera specifications
This is a selected group of documented models, not the complete Reolink catalogue or a stock list. A missing model has not been assessed here. Open a product name for its full record.
Unknown does not mean unsupported. Open Scope and sources beside a value to check the source date and hardware/firmware scope. Unspecified revisions are not a promise that every revision has the same feature.
A wider image and optical zoom answer different needs
The Duo 2 WiFi record describes a much wider image shape, while E1 Outdoor has a documented optical zoom factor. A pixel count alone does not establish the area you can identify at a given distance. The table also exposes codec and enclosure-rating differences; those can matter even when both cameras meet your wireless and native-audio requirements.
Choose the recording format you can use
- Choose Duo 2 WiFi when its documented image shape suits your intended view and your exact recording profile accepts its codec and dimensions.
- Choose E1 Outdoor when its documented optical zoom and image format better fit the view you need, then verify power and mounting requirements.
- If the system is Synology, use the existing Duo guide to check the exact supported profile and scope. Do not infer licence count from the product name or number of lenses.
Before committing to a camera layout
Check the manufacturer’s field-of-view specifications for the exact model and your proposed mounting geometry. Confirm the image format accepted throughout the intended recording and viewing path. No field-of-view number, panoramic coverage guarantee or client-wide playback claim is inferred here from the image dimensions alone.
These are camera specifications. They do not establish which features work through Synology, Home Assistant or a Reolink NVR. Check the exact camera, integration, recorder revision and firmware before buying for a particular system.

Evidence and purchasing scope
The tables use the current published capability records. Each known value links to its manufacturer source and shows its capture date and scope. We have not tested these cameras side by side. Selection is based on documented differences, independently of merchant offers; current availability, price and bundled accessories are not verified.
