Camera buying decisions
Reolink PoE cameras compared: power, resolution and codecs
Start with the camera’s documented PoE standard and power requirement, then compare its image dimensions and codecs. A camera sharing an Ethernet connector with another model does not make their power requirements interchangeable. The table includes only models with a published positive PoE capability.
Compare documented camera specifications
This is a selected group of documented models, not the complete Reolink catalogue or a stock list. A missing model has not been assessed here. Open a product name for its full record.
Unknown does not mean unsupported. Open Scope and sources beside a value to check the source date and hardware/firmware scope. Unspecified revisions are not a promise that every revision has the same feature.
Which differences affect the installation?
The documented selection includes CX410 and several RLC models. Read Power methods and Maximum power together: the RLC-823A has a different listed PoE class and a higher published maximum power than the RLC-811A. Image dimensions and codec lists also differ across this group. Those differences can change both the switch specification and the recording workflow; the largest image alone does not identify the right purchase.
Choose around your existing wiring
- For an existing switch, use its supported standard and per-port power limit to narrow the table first. Then check the total switch budget for every camera you plan to connect.
- For a new wired installation, compare the recording system’s accepted resolution and codec with each camera row before choosing the camera count and storage arrangement.
- If optical zoom is part of the requirement, continue to the zoom comparison. A positive PoE entry says nothing about the lens or the controls available through your recorder.
Before ordering the camera and switch
Check the exact camera variant, the switch or injector standard, the cabling route and the power accessories included in the order. Do not size the whole installation from a single port rating. The linked switch guide explains the separate per-port and total-budget checks; this page selects cameras, rather than repeating that sizing guide.
These are camera specifications. They do not establish which features work through Synology, Home Assistant or a Reolink NVR. Check the exact camera, integration, recorder revision and firmware before buying for a particular system.

Evidence and purchasing scope
The tables use the current published capability records. Each known value links to its manufacturer source and shows its capture date and scope. We have not tested these cameras side by side. Selection is based on documented differences, independently of merchant offers; current availability, price and bundled accessories are not verified.
